Bad Boys.

Resurrection of Christ

Resurrection of Christ (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Lights flashing, handcuffs, fines, and bad food, this was the life I lead for many years. i was the original bad boy, I lived to die and chased fantasy’s like a cat chases his tail. I had no respect for the law, or anyone who had any kind of leadership roles I shot them down with the quickness of the tongue with no regard to them and much less their feelings. I lived a life of a superstar on a McDonald’s budget and that was life for me.  I had to go there to get here and some of you may still be there, in that spot in life were nothing matters but selfish desires and destruction, I come with a love poem and an open heart to tell you there is Hope.

I’m still a bad boy, don’t get me wrong, just on a higher level. I”m a bad boy for Christ and he is the reason for any of this. He tore the walls down around my heart, and gave me something I could never dream of; Love for Him and a love for people who stretches beyond the sea’s. He turned my life into a life less ordinary. Today I live by a set of beliefs that I used to condemn, that’s why I relate so much to the Apostle Paul, for He was the first recluse, abolish-er of the faith and down right dirty dog, then the Lord turned his heart to something a new.

This is the weekend when we celebrate Christ and all his majesty, from the crown of thorns to the beatings, to the death on the cross, we celebrate what this God-Man did for the human race.   Jesus had to go there to get us here, bottom line. For us to live a life of abundance and gratitude, He had to walk with the cross, He had to be mocked and tormented, He had to feel every human emotion, for us. If Jesus did not do the things he did, life would be that of emptiness and shallowness, something I now all to well.

The emptiness of no love, no feelings, living in a state of delusional fantasy’s educed by drugs and alcohol, mixed in with sex and pornography, and you had one hell of a cocktail. That was my life, nothing more and nothing less, and my story is told through the eyes of a man who follows Christ and will continue to follow Christ till he takes the very breath from me. My hope is that the words I write ordained by God will prick the heart of some lost soul living the late night ecstasy and bring them hope.

This is my calling and this is my life, to touch the hearts and minds of people who are still in that life looking to get out. The ones looking for that next bottle or needle or the internet site that says “WARNING”. I had to go there to get here to tell you this one thing with my story, there is hope, and his name is the name above all names. His name brings men to tears and turns punks and cowards into true men. His name is Jesus Christ, I wonder if ya know him?

Thanks for reading!!! Be Blessed!!!!!

  1. Easter is a time of rememberance, a time of thankfulness, a time of Joy…

Many Blessings Scott to you and your Loved ones.

We will do your Reblog next week after Easter thank you for your permission

Christaian Love – Ron and Anne

  2. You know, the testimony of a changed life is probably one of the most powerful tools God uses to call the lost unto Him, and yours’ stands alone. You ROCK, Man.

I gotta call you out on this ” bad boy” stuff that you still identify with, though, in all love and respect- I think I know what you mean, but we gotta be careful in how we see ourselves. It’s true that the old man has DIED (with Christ in baptism), been judged, and is now raised with Christ in righteousness, a NEW creation, righteous by faith in Jesus, etc, etc. I know that you know all this, but we have to be careful that we don’t drag around the old dead body (of Sin) around with us, cuz, well, it STINKETH.

Maybe you still wanna call yourself a “bad boy” because you associate it with being “tough” or “street- wise” or whatever. Rambo with a halo, whatever. Me, I want to say, “When I am WEAK, HE is strong”, and “His strength is perfected in weakness”. The outer man is a facade; the inner man is where the strength lay- Christ IN you.

    Happy Easter, Bro

  3. Hi!!!! Thank you so much for the feed back, thats what I was trying to say, but after a few cups of coffee my thoughts dont come out the way i hoped! lol, But thank you!!!!

  4. Hi Scott I came back to respond to your message and I do not accept that it is coffee that causes you to write error but how you have accepted some of the teaching that is in error and although partly True what he shared so is Vessel of Righteousness -Boy in error. Jesus did indeed have our emotions but He never sinned because of them.

You did not have to have the life you had, Scott you chose it, God did not lead you into temptation and cause you to sin so you could help others but He will make all things work for good because you Love Him and your Testormony is powerful but you need to move on and share also your new life in Christ Jesus and how He has blessed you and continues to bless you, as you put your flesh to death by the Spirit, chooseing to walk in Love by His empowering which is aiming for the crown that Paul won before he died as did many in the early Church, this is the crown of righetousness which comes when we are perfected in Love.

When we are Born again of God’s seed ( see below) and have the mind of Christ we don’t sin or do we choose to sin, we walk as He did. Please take the time to seek God for His understanding with the Scripture below and there are many more that confirms this Truth, if you have asked with all your heart for His wisdom believe you have received, it if not do so.

We Love you in The Lord Scott – Anne

John 8:34-36 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Romans 6:17-19 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness

1John 3:4-10 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that He appeared so that He might take away our sins. And in Him is no sin. *No one who lives in Him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen Him or known Him. * Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as He is righteous. * He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. * No one who is Born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been Born of God.* This is how we know who the Children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not Love his brother.

    Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Colossians 3:4-6 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.

1John 4:16-17 And we have known and believed the Love that God hath to us. God is Love; and he that dwelleth in Love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our Love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world.

  5. I think you for the response, and I have put the old self to rest and moved on. I do share what Christ has done in my life and will continue to share what hes done in my life. My teachings come from the very bible you read so they are not in error. I probably should not have used the word bad boy for Christ, but i was trying to refer to how the world views Christ and Christians, in their eyes, we are the bad boys because we do things different than they do. We love and respect each other and tell the lost about the Good news of salvation.

    In Christ
    Scott

  6. Hi Scott , we do indeed Love you in The Lord, we are not against you, we are for you and are thankful you have asked for God’s wisdom or like many others you would be depending on your own or on theirs. Yes I’m sure you and they are reading out of the same Bible as us but to understand it we don’t depend on others fleshy knowledge or what they have learned from others regardless of who they are or our own, logic reasoning, knowledge or understanding, we ask our only Teacher Jesus Christ and through the empowering of the Holy Spirit He teaches us all things 1Corinthians 2 9-16

Please share with me Scott how you have put your old self to rest and moved on, you have shared a few times in the past that you still sin, perhaps you are referring to you weaknesses and shortcomings not sin we have theses too perhaps more then yours.

Ephesians 4:23-24 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Romans 6:5-7 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.

1 John 2:4-6 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the Love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.

Hebrews 6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God.

Phillipians 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

1 John 4:17-19 Herein is our Love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in Love; but perfect Love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in Love. We Love Him, because He first Loved us.

Daniel 12:10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.

There are many more Scriptures Scott that confirm Freedom in Christ Jesus.

Christian Love from both of us – Anne

Please feel free Scott to delete our comments if wanted, it is not our intention to hurt you in any way but to help you as The Lord asks us to do for each other so we can Mature in Him.

  7. Hi Anne!!!

I wouldnt dream of deleting any comments because this shows other readers how we grow in the Lord by teaching and learning from Christ and others. I will indeed share on a future post how im not the “old Person” i once was. I believe i have shared but will gladly do it some more.
    Thank you for your love!
    In christ
    Scott

    • Thank you Scott, our dear Brother in The Lord, it is good to share God’s Truth through the Scriptures confirmation, but not our own understanding unless it is of course in aggreement with the Scriptures.

We will look forward to your post.

      Many blessings.

  8. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and now His living word is written not on stone tablets, but on hearts of flesh like yours and mine; and like Paul, we can say with confidence that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

We don’t live in the doubt and fear that the enemy tries so hard to condemn us with, even delivered by well-meaning believers who beat us over the head with endless scriptures to supposedly “help”us- indeed, the Holy Spirit Himself bears witness of our salvation. We were all bought with a price, and the life we now live is not our own. I don’t hammer you with endless quotes of scripture, in fact I have assimilated Gods’ word into my being and now can speak it plainly as applied truth, not as a robot merely quotes words on a page. It is a living word. We can be ourselves, as God made us to be.

Mercy triumphs over judgment. God’s got you-don’t worry about the small stuff- nor the well intentioned folks who are so worried about you falling back into your old ways. There are so many out there who are trying so hard to do more in their own strength to somehow attain salvation on their own merits. They will never be “good” enough, and there is no peace in their demeanor. Don’t let them drag you down with their “good” intentions. Frankly, it is nauseating. God is faithful- we can trust Him on that!

Now, move on to greater things- God’s got big plans for you ! I like your youthful joy that you share with your readers- it is uplifting- Keep it up!

Romans 8 is a liberating word which applies to this discourse.
