No More Tears.

Songs of Our Fathers

Songs of Our Fathers (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

This post goes out to all that’s lost a loved one, especially a father. As we prepare for Fathers Day weekend we enjoy spending time with our fathers and honoring him, but for those of us that don’t have a father due to an early passing, neglect, divorce, or just have never been involved in your life, please let me take the time to honor you. The heartbreak and loneliness that a fatherless child endures is beyond anything in this world. Trying to understand the big question, “Why?”” Why has daddy died or left?”, or “why is daddy passed out on the couch all the time?” or” why does he work so much?”. Any of these familiar? I know for me my biggest question was “Why did daddy have to die?”

I have wrote about this before, when dad passed away when I was younger, but this time I want to take the time to thank all of you around the world who have made the choice, no matter what to succeed in the eyes of our heavenly father and lay your burdens at his feet. I have forgiven my father for passing at a young age, and I realize today it was because God loved me that this happened. Though I went to hell and back for about 10 years, living a life of self-destruction and  failure, I have now been sober and living in grace for almost 8 years, and today I truly believe that my earthly father is proud of me.

I understand the hurt and pain that come along with losing a daddy, but I am here to tell you that you have a heavenly father that loves you more than you could ever understand. He has a love that goes deeper than the ocean and he not only loves us, but disciplines us as well. He carries us, walks with us, and talks with us on a cool morning with sun coming alive. He searches for us through the darkness and debris of this life until we come face to face with His omnipotent presence and says, “let me love you.” God loves us so much, he gave his one and only son to die on the cross for us, and that my friend is the greatest love known.

He is the author of love and and His majestic presence in our lives is something we truly don’t deserve, so my friends, no more tears. No more tears on a lonely night thinking about “What if?” Or “Would life be different if daddy was around?” No more tears when were around our friends and their dad is a shining star of what a father is to be. No more tears, because this is were the healing begins, in the hands of Christ.  Its true that a fathers love for the son is like none other, and God, our heavenly father has a love for us that’s perfect.

So my question is, “Will you let Him heal the hurt?” So you can say no more tears on a lonely night? Thanks for reading!!!! Be Blessed!!!!!

Inside Out

128       Today I want to love you from the inside out. Today I will love you from the inside out and shout to the world my undying love for Christ.

Today Christ is my all in all and is my everything. I can do nothing without Him, nor do I want to try. This is my prayer as the day goes on and activities seem to be distracting, I still want to love you from the inside out. From the inside out is were I will show my love for you Oh Lord, because the outside has nothing for me.

This is how we are to live as Christians with love from the inside out, everlasting love for Christ and other people. If this is how we are to live, my question is why do so many Christians not live this way? If we are to honor God, show love, and give love, why do we fail? I have seen many Christians that I know, well they say they are anyways at church, but out in public, they act like you don’t even exist. I have been ran away from by other “Christians” for no apparent reason and I will continue to pray for them.

The thing is its sometimes unsettling because it makes me feel less than I know I really am. I to am a new creation with the fundamentals and beliefs of other Christians, but I missed the memo that you also have to be apart of the “cool kids club” even at church to fit in. Yes this is true even at church, if you don’t look the part you don’t get noticed. The most important thing I have ever learned is we don’t go to church for other people, we go to church for God, period. We go to hear what He has to say to us and bring our requests to Him who loves us dearly, and the fellowship with other people is an added bonus. I mean don’t get me wrong, I love seeing my friends at church, but their not the reason I’m there.

This is were I have learned to love Christ from the inside out, and everything else is just an added bonus. When I love Christ from the inside out, I am able to do more and be of more service to Him and other people. When I love Him from the inside out I can love other people and do what He has called me to do. When I am more concerned with the petty things of the world, or if I go to church just to “hang out,” I have failed God and myself because I put Him at the bottom of the list. Today I choose to love Him and obey Him with all that I have, from the inside out..

Heart of a Champion.

Christ (Photo credit: npatterson)

I had to go there to get here. I had to go to the depths of hell to stand on the mountain. I had to fall to the wayside, to find the true gift of life that Christ offers. Uncompromising, compassionate, majestic, and the most controversial figure known to humanity, Jesus, has given me a heart of a champion.

Have you ever watched a great athlete during at the top of their game? Watching them just gives you chills because nothing phases them. Their the one’s that keep getting better, day in and day out their game is better. After watching them you realize the amount of practice and hard work they put into being the best. Blood, sweet, and tears are what they are made of all the while be reduced to a loaf of bread when they fail.

Now, if these athletes work that hard to be the best, then as a Christian, shouldn’t we work even harder to be the best? Absolutely. Christian, we need to pray more, read more, and be more like Christ everyday. Christ gave us a new heart, a heart of a champion for Christ was the greatest champion ever. Today, i try to live like a champion, like Christ, and I will not succumb to anything this world has to offer. “He is Risen” will be chanted among Christians next Sunday and the real question is, has Christ risen in you and given you a heart of a champion, or are you just a “two a year Christian?”

You know, the ones that only come to church on Easter and Christmas because it’s the right thing to do. The ones that come and make an appearance, sit in the back and say “Amen” while their skin is crawling because they had too much to drink the night before. Yes, many people world-wide, only celebrate twice a year. Sad to think that people only celebrate what Christ did for us two days out of the year and sadly, many Christians do too.

Why? Because it’s not cool to be a Christian. It’s not popular to live by a set of morals given by our heavenly father. It’s not cool to have a heart for God and people and it sure isn’t cool to go to church more than twice a year. Sad. When to think God gave his only Son to die on that Cross so we could have a relationship with Him, and people only want to spend two days with Him.

To have a heart of a champion it requires work and that means going to church more than twice a year. It means being the unpopular and criticized for doing whats right and standing up for what you believe in. Yes it even means to praise God through thick and thin, during the storms and the silence, and unwavering faith in Christ Jesus. He was and always is and ever will be Jesus, and we as Christians need to have the heart of a champion that He gave us.

A Sense of Belonging.

Hollywood Tower Apartments

The society we live in today is all about Big Cars, Big Houses, Big Hair, and too much make up and not enough face. We take great pride in trying to be someone were not because “Hollywood” says its O.K. I think it’s rather funny when one of the Hollywood starlets starts a new trend and the next thing you that new trend is seen all over the place. I remember when Paris Hilton coined the phrase “that’s hot” just simply meaning something was cool, and the next thing you know the world was saying. I hate that phrase with a passion! How about when those cheesy sunglasses that Brittany Spears started to wear? Man within a few seconds it seemed like, they were on the faces of every teenage girl in the country.

This is the problem today; No one wants to be themselves anymore. No one wants to get real and stop being fake. Being fake today is “cool” and “hip”, so that way no one really gets to know the real you. How sad. We strive so hard to be someone else when were missing the most beautiful person, you. We are the most beautiful people we will ever meet. No one else can be you, God created you wonderfully and beautiful for no other reason to serve Him.

Before I came to the Lord I had a bad sense of belonging. I belonged to the bars and hookers. Cops and lawyers and the judges were my master. Alcohol consumed me like poison from a viper and I couldn’t stop. My sense of belonging was shattered and hopeless and I tried to fit in, but failed. Time and time again I turned to “booze” and “the woman who understood” to fit in, because they were the only ones that knew what I was talking about. The woman of the night and the snakes poison had me, engulfed in a life of nothingness, looking for nothing, and living for nothing. Sadly, this is the way many people live today.

I have found there is good news. Good news for life and salvation, and His name is Jesus Christ. He has done more for me than any human could ever possibly think about and I’m so grateful today. Today I have a sense of belonging, and that belonging is in Christ Jesus. He loves me for me and teaches me everyday how to be a true Man of God. When Christ took a hold of me and put me on solid ground and he breathed the breath of life into me, that was the first time I ever felt “comfortable in my own skin,” and has it been awesome.

So many people, beautiful people in the world today, and they don’t even know how beautiful they are. There is one who knows. There is one how can love you more than you could ever imagine. There is one who will give you the strength to proceed and  the strength to believe, that one is Christ. Will you let Him love you today?
